You can make a big difference to animals even just from home

There are lots of pets and farm animals charities you can get involved with in Sussex and some - such as the Brooke - help animals further afield in countries.  A few of them are listed below - this is a work in progress!

Animal Charities in Sussex include... 
  1. Moorcroft Racehorse Welfare Centre rehabilitates racehorses for second careers or as companion animals
  2. Little Bramley Farm  Horses Sanctuary is based in East Sussex
  3. Last Chance Animal Rescue (okay, so they are in Kent, strictly speaking but give or take a few miles, it's all for the animals & my direction was never brilliant - they are in Edenbridge)
  4. The Sussex Pet Rescue Charitable Trust, Storrington
  5. Lost Cats (Brighton)
  6. Mount Noddy Animal Centre (near Chichester, an RSPCA branch that is entirely self-financing)
  7. Cats Protection - HQ is at Chelwood Gate, near East Grinstead, & there's plenty of branches & some charity shops to get involved with
  8. Celia Hammond Animal Trust helps stray, abandoned and unwanted animals.  It operates in London and the South East
  9. Dogs Trust, Shoreham
  10. RSPCA - the HQ is just outside Horsham and the RSPCA has branches around Sussex
  11. Wadars - the rehabilitation of wildlife &  the rescue & re-homing of domestic pets, based in Worthing
  12. Paws Animal Sanctuary, Findon
  13. Raystede, Ringmer, East Sussex, caring for birds, cats, dogs, equine, wildlife & more
  14. The Cinnamon Trust always needs volunteers around the country to help the elderly & terminally ill with pet care, whether they are in care homes or their own home
  15. International Animal Rescue helps wild & domestic animals with rescue & rehabilitation, including cutting free the dancing bears of India
  16. The Blue Cross, including a need for volunteers to go into schools to talk to children about responsible pet ownership 
  17. Paws & Claws Animal Rescue Service, Sayers Common, West Sussex
  18. Kit Wilson Trust for Animal Welfare - animal rescue & re-homing plus wildlife rehabilitation & rescue & wildlife emergency help line.  Based in Hadlow Down, East Sussex
  19. Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund whose HQ is also in Horsham
  20. Canine Partners - training dogs to partner people with disabilities#
  21. Cat Welfare Sussex, based in Brighton
  22. Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary at Bexhill-on-Sea rehomes or provides permanent refuge for abused, abandoned and unwanted animals
  23. The Oldies - rescues & re-homes older dogs in many parts of the UK
  24. Croydon Animal Samaritans - volunteers & fosterers always needed
  25. The Brooke - help fundraise for horses, mules & donkeys around the world.
