Things to do
Places to Visit in Sussex Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre gives you the chance to experience the intrigue & magic of the past & gives you the chance to find out more about our heritage & be nostalgic. It is set in the South Downs National Park. There's Vintage Fun on a vintage bus or narrow gauge railway, and there are steam engines to see, buses & fire engines.. They are closed during winter months but open in the February half term - for opening hours click here. It's also home to a number of resident craftspeople, including a walking stick maker, a potter, a broommaker, stained glass maker & a blacksmith & you can watch them all at work and ask them questions. You can also become a volunteer. You can enjoyably spend time exploring Sussex villages & Sussex towns such as Midhurst (described by English Heritage as "a hidden jewel" - get off the main street and discover the back lanes)
